Rainy Day Outfits
Here on the East Coast we haven't had a nice sunny day in about a week and I have been struggling with what to wear. I want to look cute and classy but also stay warm and dry. I have tried to be creative, so here are a few outfits I have come up with.
OUTFIT #1
Since I am not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to necessities, I did not have an umbrella for quite a while. I have been very dependent on jackets and hats alone to keep me dry. The first outfit I wore in this intense rain included leggings paired with hunter boots, a cute and soft sweatshirt, a hat, and a thick rain jacket.
I found this picture on Pintrest which is very similar to what the outfit I wore looked like. I got my leggings from the Under Armour outlet and my sweatshirt from target. Any hat works obviously but I rocked a hat I got from my University that says La Salle Golf. I also did not wear a vest instead I wore a rain jacket from Nike.
This jacket is probably pretty pricey. The only reason I have this jacket is because my coach gave it to me for a golf tournament! Below I have linked a cute and cheap rain jacket that is warm, classic, and basic.
Columbia Rain Jacket - VERY NICE and under 50$
To add another prep element to my outfit I also wore a monogrammed necklace I got from Etsy
Monogrammed Necklace - These are usually 50-100$ but Etsy has nice necklaces under 50$ and if you buy from Etsy you are helping local businesses (yay economic growth! woo!)
OUTFIT #2
When I finally came to my senses and got an umbrella I was able to not only wear cuter outfits but also do my hair!! I wore black jeans because if they got wet the water wouldn't visibly stain my jeans for the rest of the day. I am really into black on black so I paired my black jeans with a black turtle neck.
This actually the exact picture I got my outfit inspiration from! I wore a very similar coat I got from Primark for 20$!! It is gray.
Coat - This is the coat I have but in blue. The price went up a little but just as I stated in my last post, Primark is much cheaper in store than it is online.
Also, although I do not have this umbrella I am obsessed with an umbrella I found on Amazon for only 14$!! (AND FREE SHIPPING)
Umbrella - Very classy and cute. Make a statement on the way to class or work!
Again, I wore my monogrammed necklace from Etsy!
OUTFIT #3
Although the above outfits are pretty similar to all the rain day outfits I wore, it has hit me that maybe some girls like to dress up no matter what the whether is like! I have also fallen in love with the Hunter boot and dress look! If you're looking to dress up on a rainy day, here are some suggestions!
For a more formal look
I think pairing any dress with a long jacket is A LOOK. I also like the idea of wearing a semi-formal outfit in the rain with simple hair. The simple, low pony tail is defiantly a good idea for the rain so that your hair stays out of your face if there is wind. The low pony tail is also a very classic look in my opinion.
Another less formal, but still dressy, option would be similar to this
Again, I personally would wear hunter boots with this look as well as a longer coat but a dress that is casual and comfy is a good option for an uncomfortable rainy day! I also like the idea of wearing a statement necklace to dress up the outfit a little more.
Statement Necklace - Francesca's has a plethora of statement necklaces for under 30$
I hope some of these outfits give you inspiration on rainy days! I also think looking nice on rainy days makes the day feel a little less....blah. Ya know? Below I have linked Hunter Boots! I mentioned them in my last post Winter Show Must Have's!! So defiantly check that out!
