Winter Shoe Must Haves!

We are in the middle of Winter here on the East Coast and I've been thinking a lot about show wear! I've come to realize I wear the same five shoes throughout the cold season.

My most worn shoes are definitely my L.L.Bean Boots

I personally really like the way these boots look, although some may not. These shoes are very practical and keep my feet really warm. Recently I attended the Eagles Super Bowl Parade (Go Eagles) and the high temperature that day was 32 degrees and these shoes kept my feet warm all day. There was also a lot of mud on my boots after attending the parade and when I got home the mud wiped off the boots with little effort. Above, the boots are pictured in blue but they also come in brown. They also come in a shorter version that goes to just the ankle. These shoes are kind of expensive, going against the name of my blog, but I have had these shoes for four years and they still look brand new. I literally saved up for a year to get these shoes! Totally worth it. There are also similar styles produced by Sperry that are about 60$ less! One of my best friends also has the Tommy Hilfiger version which run for about 100$  (Also called duck boots if you're looking for them in a different brand)

My next most worn shoes are my regular brown riding boots (wearing them as I write this actually!)

These are the most practical shoes I wear during the winter/fall season. They look great with any outfit whether you are wearing leggings or jeans. They make any outfit look a little more put together. I personally like when my socks peak out the top of the boot. My mom purchased my riding boots at Khols, I believe, for a pretty decent price, but my best friend owns a pair of riding boots from Coach that she swears by. It really just depends on your budget because the boots look practically the same.

Next, is another shoe on the expensive side but there are many cheaper versions that have the same effect. These are my Hunter Rain Boots!

These boots run for about $150. I begged my mom for these shoes for about three years and this year she finally caved. I love these shoes. I never owned a pair of rain boots before and I would ruin a lot of my shoes in the rain or snow. When it rains or snows and I wear these boots, they keep my feet dry. Nothing gets inside the boots and my feet stay warm. I also think they are very fashionable and cute. They also look nice with leggings and jeans just like the riding boots. Hunters come in a tall version which I have, and also a shorter version that goes just above the ankle. You can also order them in glossy or matte. This is really just a style preference. I have the matte pair but the glossy pair is just as nice. Above I have linked the Hunter Boots but also a cheaper pair I found at Lord and Taylor that are just as cute and about 90$ less. I also linked a pair of rain boots I found at Walmart. Hear me out. They actually look very similar to the glossy hunter boots and are good boots for the rain. I'm not sure how well they keep the rain and snow out of your shoe but for $10 they're worth checking out.

Next we have a simple brown ankle bootie with no heel

I got my ankle booties at Primark for literally $8. I cannot find the brown version of the boot on their website so I inserted a link to what they look like in different colors, but the brown version is at every Primark store I have ever been to. These boots are easy to throw on with a simple outfit to dress it up a little more. The other day I wore a purple sweater with some simple denim blue jeans, threw on these boots, and instantly felt more put together. I personally like the boot with no heel because it's easier to walk around campus but I find the heeled booties to be just as cute. I also like to cuff the bottom of my jeans just above the boot to add a little more style to it as well.

Last, but not least, I wear simple black flats in the winter

I know, I know, they don't cover a lot of your foot in the cold winter but sometimes beauty is pain right?? I like to wear these as a more formal shoe but they can also be worn casually. You can wear flats with dresses and skirts but also jeans. The other day I wore my black flats with jeans, a green Ralph Lauren sweater, paired with a tan cardigan and it looked super cute! Ya know, sometimes, I just get tired of boots and need a little change. I have linked a $12 pair from JC Penny along with a very expensive version from Chanel that you see the popular prepsters wearing.

What shoes are you loving for the winter? Let me know in the comments!

Love,
Mary
